Sean’s Founder Story

In 2019, I was flying from Milwaukee to Los Angeles as a Senior Product Marketing Manager for Milwaukee Power Tools. Somewhere over the Midwest, during a simple moment of journaling, something hit me with absolute clarity: we have choices in life, and I wasn’t choosing mine.

I realized that if I stayed in a career that didn’t make the world healthier or happier, I would look back on my deathbed with regret. That fear — the fear of misusing my one life, was the wake-up call.

The timing couldn’t have been worse. I was supporting myself and supporting family members financially. Quitting meant giving up stability, income, and identity. But it also meant something more important: the chance to align my life with a mission I believed in.

So the moment I landed, I quit. I bought my own flight home. And I started building a company from scratch — with no backup plan, no safety net, and no option to fail.

Very early, I learned two truths that shaped everything that followed.

Truth #1: Helping the right people matters.

My first client was developing a habit-building app. Months later, I met somebody in real life who had seen our marketing, downloaded the app, started exercising consistently, and lost 40 pounds in 18 months. That’s the moment I knew I made the right choice.

Marketing had changed someone’s life.

Truth #2: People buy from people.

When we studied social media channels — across industries — we saw the same pattern again and again:

Brand pages with huge followings were getting tiny engagement.

Founders with smaller audiences were outperforming them by 5–10x.

Human connection drives action. Story drives trust. The founder is the brand.

That shifted our entire direction.

But the deepest shift came later, when I fully understood the moral weight of social media. Social media changes people’s political views. It shapes their beliefs. It influences behavior. It affects mental health. I’m not political — but watching how powerfully platforms can steer society made one thing clear:

If we don’t fight the good fight, someone else will fill the void.

Social media can manipulate people…

or it can support them.

It can divide…

or it can lift people up.

It can destroy mental health…

or it can inspire healthier choices, better habits, stronger communities.

So I chose my mission:

Help the world become happier, healthier, and more productive.

And do it by amplifying the messages of the founders, experts, and leaders who are making the world better — louder than the noise pulling people in the wrong direction.

That’s the purpose of Greenspan Consulting.

That’s why I wake up and build this company.

That’s the movement we’re leading.
